Going through a breakup can be one of the most difficult and painful times. There can be such an overwhelming feeling of disappointment, going over moments and scenes in your head, wondering if you could / should have been different. There is the loss of hope in that person and relationship and sometimes the loss of hope in ever having a healthy, loving relationship.
It can be tough! At times like this, it can be difficult to ‘think positive’. I have found having a few affirmations to help lift me up have made all the difference, even if, when I say them, they feel false.
I like to think of affirmations as the kind, loving inner voice of my inner parent. They are the kind of things a great friend would say to me during a difficult time.
Part of the re-parenting process is to learn to be the voice of your ideal, compassionate, loving parent. When you are going through a breakup, you need your inner parent more than ever. Using these affirmations is just one way you can self-care and bring that loving part of self forward to care for the hurt part of self.
If you have affirmations to add to this list, I would love to hear them to add to the work and share the love!
As always, much love to you all.
