Over the years, I have collected a few – these are the stand-outs.
- In an Unspoken Voice – Peter Levine
- Trauma-Proofing Your Kids – Peter Levine
- Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma – Peter Levine
- Healing the Fragmented Selves of Trauma Survivors – Janina Fisher
- The Trauma of Everyday Life – Mark Epstein
- My Grandmother’s Hands – Resmaa Menakem
Notice that there is a lot of Peter Levine, the founder of Somatic Experiencing. His books contain deep insight into the nature of trauma and how to begin healing from trauma, including complex trauma (trauma we experienced in our childhood).
‘My Grandmother’s Hands’ by Resmaa Menakem is a life-changing book about racialized trauma. I love how he keeps the body online throughout the book. It’s an incredible piece of art. Thank you Resmaa for writing it.
Love to all,
Jen
