Strength and The Hermit
I hope you enjoyed your session with The Lovers and The Chariot. As you work with these cards regularly you will find that they will teach you more. There is a lot in these two cards, you might use them for contemplation if you are working on a relationship or on a project you would like to get moving with.
In this session we meet Strength, the part of ourselves that is able to temper the wild lion of our ego. We have the opportunity to reflect on our inner strength and where we might lack this strength.
We will then explore The Hermit. In the Hermit we have reached a nine card. This signifies a level of attainment and enlightenment as a nine is always the end of a cycle. We are not at the end of our journey yet, but we have reached a certain level of realisation. This card invites us to acknowledge how far we have come, to see our beauty and reflect on the journey we have been on to get where we are now.
Below are some notes for you to use as a quick reference if you draw these cards and your spiritual practices related to the card. Feel free to do all the recommended practices for each card or if you prefer to focus on one card per week then choose the one which is most calling you and do the spiritual practices for that card only.
Strength
The main themes for Strength are:
- Strength of Character
- Self-improvement to break bad habits
- The resolution of a major life problem
- Vitality
- Self-Confidence
- Determination and soul power being directed
- Overcoming obstacles
- Stamina and perseverance
- Taming the animal instincts
Contemplation for this card:
- Choose one ‘bad habit’ and commit to refining it for the next month.
- I align myself with the will of my soul. I am strong and gentle. I persevere.
- Send love to the part of self that is wild and sometimes out of control.
The Hermit
The main themes for The Hermit are:
- Introspection
- Attainment in an area of life.
- Finding answers in the quiet of the self
- Time for retreat perhaps?
- Spiritual guide internally or externally
- Allowing answers to come from within
- Connecting with your soul
- Rest, reflection, isolation
Spiritual Practices and Questions for Contemplation are:
- Call for the Sage: when the student is ready, the teacher appears
- Taking time to recognise your own mastery in some areas. Sometimes we can over focus on our areas of growth. Make a list of ten areas where you have a level of mastery. Honour yourself in these areas now.
- Where can I shine a light for others? Where can I help others? Think on one thing that can be done this week that is manageable for you and commit to doing it.
