This is Manuel. He grew up in Arnhem land in the Northern Territories of Australia. Manuel remembers living on the land, eating “bush tucker”, hunting and cooking kangaroos. He remembers being scared as a child when he saw his first white man. He thought it was a ghost.
Now he has a job and lives in the town of Katherine. It was an honour to listen to Manuel and have him teach us in his warm way about the land, spear throwing and the art of his people.
It was a highlight of our trip.
