I could list all of the benefits of meditation, but you know them. There is something else that blocks you from actually meditating. The truth is that when you first sit down to meditate, it is likely to be uncomfortable. You are going to feel bored, you are going to notice all of the thoughts racing around your head, and you might notice pain in your body.
When you start to meditate, you are likely to feel uncomfortable. As the thoughts come, rather than resist them, think of them as bubbles of energy being released from your nervous system. When you become aware of your thoughts, gently bring your awareness back to the mantra or the point of focus.
