Spiritual Tarot Session 7

The Wheel of Fortune and Justice

I hope you enjoyed your session with Strength and the Hermit. They are two powerful cards. In this session we begin a new cycle with the Wheel of Fortune. In numerology ten reduces to one, so this card is the beginning of a new cycle, having reached a level of attainment in the Hermit (card nine). Both the Wheel of fortune and Justice carry strong elements of karma, teaching us that this new cycle is not really new, but rests on our past actions.

The Wheel of Fortune has a lot of symbology woven through it, from the lineage of alchemy, Kabbalah, and from ancient Egypt. It is teaching us to be comfortable with change, to be centred in the midst of chaos, and to know that everything is a product of our karma.

In Justice we meet the central force that balances mercy and severity. This card invites us to connect with our deepest truth and do what needs to be done to bring about justice. It also teaches us that whatever is happening right now is a product of our karma, good and bad.

Below are some notes for you to use as a quick reference if you draw these cards and your spiritual practices related to the card. Feel free to do all the recommended practices for each card or if you prefer to focus on one card per week then choose the one which is most calling you and do the spiritual practices for that card only.

The Wheel of Fortune

The main themes for The Wheel of Fortune are:

  • Change, a change is coming
  • Luck
  • Karma / Destiny
  • Life Cycles
  • Turning points
  • Things outside of your control may be influencing your life.
  • The need to accept the present

Spiritual Practices and Contemplations for this card:

  • Visualise what you want to create and surrender to your karma. You might visualise daily before you sleep what you would like your life to look like, whilst asking if that vision is not the best thing for you that it be altered.
  • To improve your karma, do good. Enter each day with the thought “How can I do good today”. As soon as you are impulsed to do good, don’t wait, do it straight away.

Justice

The main themes for Justice are:

  • This fairest outcome will manifest
  • A sword may be required to cut through a situation
  • Cause and effect
  • Balance
  • Responsibility
  • Law
  • Reflecting on the intentions behind our actions – are they for the good of all or not?
  • Being accountable

Spiritual Practices and Contemplations are:

  • Replacing judgement with compassion. Who or what am I judging? Expanding your awareness to bring in compassion.
  • Knowing that whatever is unfolding IS just. If you would like a better experience then think about how you can help people in a similar situation. For example if you are struggling to find a relationship then help a friend meet someone. If you want more income, maybe give to a charity that helps people become self-sufficient.
