4 Ways to Respond to a Boundary You Disagree With

You don’t have to agree with a boundary to respect it. You don’t even have to understand the boundary to respect it.

Boundaries are often put in place because the other person is feeling unsafe or overwhelmed in some way. How might they be feeling unsafe or overwhelmed? Imagining what might be happening for the other person increases your empathic understanding – which is always a great thing in relationships.
