Something else I like to do with the mind when it starts to go places I know are not helpful to me is to gently guide it back.
Remember, you are the master of your mind. While you let it run riot, there will be no peace. It IS possible to work with your mind and gently guide it towards healthier thinking.
It might be watching the news on repeat. Building up fear and anxiety. Turn it off and do something you enjoy. If you like baking, do that. Focus on your recipe and what you are doing in the NOW. Gently guiding your mind to a place that is calm.
