ndia retreat. If you are interested in having a spiritual experience and visiting India - check this out. So, I LOVE India. Growing up, from about 9-12, I had a best friend from the Punjab. I used to go to her family gatherings and eat the delicious food and they would dress me up in a sari. Even then, I wanted to go to India. The first time I went, I was 21 and I LOVED it. It was not easy - there were so many polarities that came up. The intense sounds, smells, wealth and poverty. And there was this spiritual energy that was magnetic and kept drawing me back. I first visited Sri Shakti Narayani Amma 11 years ago. I was blown away by the amount of spiritual energy present inside every Temple. I only had to close my eyes and connect with the Temple, and I had this incredible experience of inner peace, expansiveness and a sense of being connected to everything. My heart burst open, and I found myself in tears of gratitude for being led to such a wonderful place. Every day is a total adventure. There will be Daily group sessions including meditations and spiritual development, focusing on connecting with the Divine within you. You can also participate in ancient Vedic rituals, including an extensive evening Full Moon fire puja, mantra practice, and other Vedic practices. There are also opportunities to teach English in Amma’s school, to help plant trees in Green Shakti (Amma’s reforestation program) and to feed children. Amma has an ayurvedic clinic and hospital next to the Temple Complex, so if you are interested in health and wellbeing, we can arrange tours of both facilities for you. Whether this is your first visit to India, or you have visited many times, this is an opportunity to safely immerse yourself in Indian culture and spirituality, learn how to connect with that energy and bring some of it home with you.
