I hear this all the time: “I felt so secure when I was single… but now that I’m in a relationship, all my old patterns are back.”
And the truth is, that makes perfect sense.
Because relationships don’t just reflect our healing — they reveal where we’re still healing. They ask more of us: more self-awareness, more communication, more vulnerability, more boundaries.
A relationship isn’t just a safe place to land; it’s a space that invites growth. It’s not a sign you’re doing it wrong if you feel activated. It’s a sign that something deep inside you is asking to be seen, understood, and healed.
Relationships are classrooms.
You’re not doing it wrong just because old patterns show up in your relationship.
A lot of people feel secure when they’re single, but then find themselves triggered, reactive, or anxious once they get close to someone again.
This doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re human — because relationships are where the deeper work begins.
They ask us to communicate more clearly. To be more vulnerable. To set clearer boundaries. To hold ourselves and another at the same time.
It’s confronting, and it’s also how we grow.
