Spiritual therapy offers a space to explore healing at the level of the mind, body, emotions and soul. I’m Jennifer Nurick, a Master’s-qualified Clinical Psychotherapist, energetic healer and Director of the International Energy Healing Association. I work with adults who want to heal trauma and relationship patterns while honouring the spiritual dimension of their lives.
My approach integrates psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work, energy healing and spiritual practice. Together, we explore the psychological wounds and protective patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while supporting a deeper connection with your inner wisdom, meaning and something beyond yourself.
What Is Spiritual Therapy?
Spiritual therapy is an integrative approach that honours both your psychological experiences and your spiritual life. It creates space to explore purpose, meaning, intuition, personal values, spiritual experiences and your relationship with something greater than yourself.
You do not need to follow a particular religion or belief system. You may express your spirituality through meditation, nature, creativity, energy work, a religious tradition, or a personal sense of connection. Therapy is shaped around your beliefs, experiences and needs.
How Can Spiritual Therapy Help?
You may be drawn to spiritual therapy if traditional talk therapy has helped you understand your experiences but you sense that another dimension of healing is needed.
Spiritual therapy may support you when you are:
- Searching for greater purpose or meaning
- Moving through a spiritual awakening or period of transformation
- Experiencing kundalini awakening
- Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body or your spiritual life
- Healing childhood trauma or recurring relationship patterns
- Experiencing anxiety, grief, shame or emotional overwhelm
- Wanting to develop greater self-compassion and inner trust
- Integrating spiritual experiences that feel difficult to understand
- Seeking therapy that respects your spiritual beliefs and practices
Spirituality can be a profound source of meaning and resilience. It can also become confusing when spiritual ideas are used to avoid painful emotions or unresolved trauma. Therapy provides a grounded space in which psychological healing and spiritual development can support one another.
How Do Psychotherapy and Energy Healing Work Together?
Psychotherapy helps us understand and heal the emotional wounds, beliefs and protective patterns shaped by our earlier experiences. Energy healing offers an opportunity to work with different levels of consciousness, including the subtle energy.
In our work, we may use Internal Family Systems to connect with protective and wounded parts, somatic psychotherapy to explore sensations and embodied responses, and spiritual or energetic practices to work with dreams, the energy body and the soul. Energy healing is offered as a complementary element within an integrative therapeutic approach and is always guided by your preferences.
The aim is not to impose a spiritual interpretation on your experiences. It is to create space for every aspect of you, psychological, emotional, physical, relational and spiritual, to be welcomed into the healing process.
What Is My Approach as a Spiritual Therapist?
My approach is warm, relational and personalised. I integrate attachment-based psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, energy healing and spiritual practice.
Together, we explore the deeper wounds and protective responses underlying anxiety, withdrawal, self-criticism and recurring relationship patterns. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, therapy can help you develop greater self-understanding, compassion and choice.
I believe every person has a wise, compassionate core beneath fear, trauma and protective patterns. Healing involves learning to access this inner wisdom and allowing it to guide your life with greater clarity, connection and authenticity.
My Training and Experience
I have worked in private practice for 21 years and hold a Master of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy. My earlier studies included two years of kinesiology and two years of energetic health, culminating in a Diploma of Energetic Health. My training and personal practice in spiritual and energetic approaches span more than two decades and include a wide range of healing modalities. I trained energy healers in Australia for many years to become insured practitioners.
I am a Director of the International Energy Healing Association and the author of Heal Your Anxious Attachment. I am also a Director of Kriya Sakthi, a registered charity supporting food and education programs in India.
My clinical training includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic psychotherapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Together, these psychological, spiritual and energetic approaches inform the grounded, integrative way I work.
Online Spiritual Therapy in Australia and Internationally
I offer online spiritual therapy and energy healing to adults across Australia and internationally. Online sessions allow us to work together from the privacy and familiarity of your own space.
