You know that feeling when you desperately want to give something up, but you just can’t?
We often feel stuck when different parts of us want different things. One part might want to give something up, while another part clings tightly to it. Like one part of me wanting to read more books, and another part wanting to zone out on social media.
Asking yourself these three questions can help bring clarity:
- On a scale from 0 to 10, how important is it for you to stop? Give a number — 0 being not at all and 10 being the most important thing for you right now.
- What makes it not a 0? Write down all the things that stop that number from being a 0.
- If you stopped tomorrow, what would be the best things that came from it? Write them all down.
When you write down your answers, you start to hear your own wisdom more clearly. The part that wants change often gets louder, and new possibilities begin to open.
